What I do at Maggie's
As Centre Fundraising Manager at Maggie's in Cardiff I'm responsible for raising the much needed funds to run our fantastic support service. Along with my team, we cover the whole of the South East Wales area and together we raise money through a number of income streams including coporates, small trusts, major giving, events, in memory, 3rd party events and supporter led activity.
Why Maggie's
Maggie's is a fantastic charity that supports people living with cancer and their loved ones in our unique centre, based in Whitchurch in Cardiff. There's no need to make an appointment here, people can just come in when they're ready. We have a small but amazing team and I'm looking for an experienced fundraiser, fabulous events organiser, someone who can give our supporters the highest level of stewardship, someone who loves a challenge and trying new things so let that come across in your application.
Who am I?
I've been the Centre Fundraising Manager at Maggie's for 7 years and have loved seeing the growth in income year on year from the day the centre opened. Every week nearly 300 people use Maggie's in Cardiff and raising the money to keep the centre open is a privilege.
Advice for prospective candidates
Read through the job description and give examples of how you meet each of the criteria. Be specific about your experience and give examples of how you've raised money, given amazing stewardship or increased income in a certain area.
